The Ahmedabad police have arrested one more accused involved in a dangerous car stunt on Highway. The man, Manish Goswami, had fled to Madhya Pradesh after the incident. Six others involved in the stunt had been arrested earlier.
A group of people had blocked a part of SG Highway with eight to 10 cars to shoot a video, which they later posted on social media. The police acted quickly and arrested six of them, including Max Kalpesh Patel, Pritam Semriya, Govindsingh Chauhan, Miteshgiri Goswami, Ashish Prajapati and Ishwar Rathod.
During the investigation, it was found that Manish Goswami, who was on the run, organised the stunt to celebrate the purchase of a new Scorpio car. He invited his friends to join him with their black cars for the video. Goswami, who has a history of serious crimes, was finally arrested in Madhya Pradesh. The police seized his Scorpio.
Goswami, originally from Madhya Pradesh and resident of Gota, has several cases of robbery, murder and extortion against him in different police stations. He was previously arrested for murder in Vastrapur and Ghatlodia. While in jail, he was caught with a mobile phone, leading to more charges.
