Three men were arrested for allegedly using forged Aadhaar and PAN cards to unlawfully transfer ownership of private land.
The accused created fake identification documents in the name of the owner, Dhruvish Mehta, and used them to execute a fraudulent sale deed for a property located in Makarba area.
Mehta, an oil trader, recently learnt that his plot in Makarba had been sold. The accused had completed the sale formalities and got the property transferred to their names. They also opened a fake bank account in his name.
Mehta filed a complaint with the Crime Branch’s Economic Offences Wing, following which Parth Shah, Mehul Parikh and Kishore Panchal were arrested. They have been remanded to police custody.
