Chandkheda Police booked a man, his parents and his sister after a lady police constable filed a complaint against them. The man had married the lady police constable in secret after meeting her on a matrimonial site and then began to blackmail her.
The accused also entered into a physical relationship with her.
The woman was forced to approach the police after the man, who had married her in a temple, refused to officially register the marriage. He also subjected her to casteist abuse. Chandkheda police have booked the accused and his family members.
The 32-year-old woman got married in 2012 but the marriage did not last long and the couple separated. Later while the constable was posted in Wankaner, she came in touch with one Hiren Panchal. When the constable was transferred to Ahmedabad, Panchal followed her and began to stay with her in Chandkheda. The couple had married in a temple and he even took her jewellery and FD of Rs1.50 lakh.
The woman then asked Panchal to officially register their marriage which he refused following which she approached the police. She has accused Panchal of physically torturing and sexually exploiting her.
