Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed the kitchen of Pride Plaza Hotel on Judges Bungalow Road in the Bodakdev area of the city. This action was taken after a customer complained that he was served a soup with live insects in it.
The incident occurred this afternoon during lunch after a business meeting when a customer found insects in the soup. When taken out of the soup, the insects were still alive. He raised his concern with the hotel staff and also made a video of the incident. Later, the AMC team arrived at the hotel, conducted an investigation, and sealed the kitchen.
This is yet another sealing in such cases; earlier, the kitchen of the five-star Hyatt Hotel in Vastrapur was also sealed and fined Rs. 2 lakh when an insect was found in its food.
