Gujarat’s ‘Garvi Gurjari’ brand has been granted a trademark certificate for its handicrafts and artisanal products. Garvi Gurjari functions under the Gujarat State Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (GSHHDC).
Lalit Narayan Singh Sandu, MD, GSHHDC, said that “The authorities have consistently promoted the traditional art and craft of Gujarat, and as a result, the corporation’s Garvi Gurjari brand has achieved a trademark certificate from the Government of India.”
A trademark certificate offers legal brand recognition and protection for any business, warranting the prevention of unauthorised use of its brand, name, or logo.
This trademark will grant the brand a unique identity in the handicraft market and allow consumers to distinguish its products from others.
With this, GSHHDC has joined the list of Government of India-run corporations that have received the trademark.
