Gujarat is gearing up to celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day with a series of patriotic events as part of the Central Government’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, running until the 15th of August.
The celebrations will feature various community activities, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and cultural programmes designed to instil national pride and unity. Notably, Ahmedabad, along with three other cities in the state, will host a grand 2-3 km long Tiranga Yatra, expected to draw over 100,000 participants. This vibrant procession will see citizens marching through the city with the tricolour, embodying the spirit of patriotism and collective pride.
From the 9th of August to the 13th of August, Ahmedabad will host an array of events. Large-scale Tiranga Yatras will take place at both taluka and district levels, with a district-level mega parade featuring school children, folk dancers, police bands, and social organisations.
Throughout the district, the national flag will be hoisted at schools, industrial institutions, government offices, iconic locations, and tourist spots. Government buildings will be adorned with lights, creating a vibrant celebratory atmosphere for the national festival.
