The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) on Thursday announced penalty for 332 students who were caught cheating in the Summer- 2024 examination. According to officials in GTU’s examination department, nine students of total 341 caught cheating in the exam were not assigned penalty after scrutiny. Another 186 were assigned level-3 penalty, including cancellation of result of all subjects of the summer/winter examination and debarment from appearing in the next exam.
As many as 100 students got level-2 penalty, which entails cancellation of result of all subjects of the current semester. Another 41 received level-1 penalty, declaring them failed in the exam in which they were caught cheating. “Two students each have been assigned penalty level 4 and 5, including cancellation of results of all the subjects of the semester apart from debarment from appearing in the next three summer/winter exams and four summer/ winter exams, respectively,” said the official.
