The AMC is planning to build the city’s first light bridge. The bridge is expected to be constructed on Airport VIP Road, connecting Shahibaug Dafnala to Airport Circle.
The estimated cost of this U-shaped bridge is around Rs 6.18 crores. The proposal for this two-lane bridge, designated for the movement of only light motor vehicles, will be presented at the meeting of the Roads and Buildings Committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday.
The AMC is also constructing a foot overbridge equipped with escalators near the Camp Hanuman gate, which will measure 5.30 meters in width and 24 meters in length.
The light bridge is planned to be located near the Desert Hawk Gate of the Cantonment, just before the foot overbridge, and will lead toward Airport Circle. It will allow light vehicles, such as motorcycles and scooters, to ascend from one side and descend on the other.
