Five minors, all of whom went missing at the same time from Sankalitnagar in Juhapura in the city, were finally traced by the Vejalpur police to Wadhwan in Surendranagar. The minors had left their home saying they were going to Mehendi (Heena) classes. The worried family members contacted the police after they failed to return.
The five minors had eloped with their lovers to get married. A woman living in Sankalitnagar in Juhapura got worried when her two daughters, who had left home for Mehendi Classes failed to return.
It soon emerged that three other minors had also gone missing. The family approached the police who checked CCTV footage of the ST Bus Stand, Railway Station and the area where the minors were last seen. They soon learned that the five minors had left with some boys. When one of the minors switched on her mobile phone, police traced their location through technical analysis and found out they were in Wadhwan.
With the help of Surendranagar police, Vejalpur cops found the minors and soon realised that they had gone with the boys to marry them. The minors feared that their family would oppose their relationship so they decided to elope. The minors had planned to go to Porbandar, Ajmer and Surendranagar, but as the train to Ajmer was in the morning, they stayed up in Ahmedabad all night with their boyfriends.
Later, they went to Wadhwan by bus from Paldi where they stayed in a shrine. RM Chauhan, PI, Vejalpur Police Station, said the minors were found before they could get married.
