In response to a petition filed in the Gujarat High Court concerning pollution in the Sabarmati River, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) acknowledged that the city’s 16 sewage treatment plants (STPs) are not functioning properly.
To address this, AMC will conduct a treatability study of all 16 STPs. AMC has allocated ₹34 lakhs, approximately ₹2 lakhs per plant, for the efficiency survey of the 16 STPs. This survey will be conducted in collaboration with the Gujarat Industries and Technical Consultancy Organization Limited (GITCO).
