Gujarati boy Jasprit Bumrah returned to his hometown Ahmedabad with the T20 World Cup trophy. He received a grand celebration at home on Sunday, adorned with garlands and sweets. Bumrah arrived home after celebrating the T20 World Cup victory with a parade in Mumbai.
Bumrah was received by his mother, Daljit, at his homecoming. The Indian pacer also gifted his ‘Player of the Tournament’ award to her.
In the final against South Africa, Bumrah turned the game in India’s favor when South Africa needed only 30 runs from as many deliveries. The fast bowler conceded just six runs in his last two overs and took the crucial wicket of Marco Jansen (2 off 4). This combined effort by Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya in the death overs helped India defeat South Africa by seven runs, securing their second T20 World Cup title.
