Millions of Indian cricket fans celebrated India’s historic T20 World Cup victory against South Africa on Saturday. Bollywood celebrities joined in the celebrations and shared their excitement on social media as they congratulated Indian cricket team on their historic triumph.
Superstar Salman Khan posted a picture of team India lifting the World Cup trophy and wrote, “Congratulations Team India.” Kriti Sanon shared a post of Indian Cricket Team and wrote, “Making Us Proud” with tricolour and heart emoji. Kartik Aaryan shared multiple stories and a post on Instagram as he showered praised on team India. He also mentioned Surya Kumar Yadav’s miraculous match-winning catch among other things.
Vicky Kaushal also shared multiple pictures from the final match on his Instagram stories and dedicated a post praising team India. Ranveer Singh seemed beyond excited as he shared glimpses of himself celebrating the victory. He also dedicated a long post for different players including Virat Kohli, Akshar Patel, Jaspreet Bumrah, Surya Kumar Yadav, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya. He made separate posts mentioning how the historic win was a befitting tribute to Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid and also paid a tribute to Rohit Sharma.
Varun Dhawan penned an emotional note about the big feat. “What a team what performances @rohitsharma45 leading from the front in every game. @virat.kohli the #goat playing his last T20 for India bringing so much joy to every Indian. Rahul Dravis was always one of my most favourite players and now to see him win a World Cup as a coach hits the spot, he wrote, before ending it with ‘Bharat Mata ki JAI’.
Kareena Kapoor Khan also celebrated India’s win by sharing a story on her Instagram. She wrote, “We brought it home” and tagged Indian criceters in the post. Extremely excited Kajol shared her joy on multiple Instagram stories and also penned a post. She wrote, “I’m still screaming and can’t get the smile off my face…. So so happy and so so proud! So many heroes who performed at this match… truly a team effort! #worldchampions.”
Ananya Panday and her best friend Suhana Khan also took to their Instagram to congratulate team India and shared pictures of the best moments of the game.
