Fifty-one preschools operating from residential premises were among the 104 establishments sealed for operating without building use (BU) permission or flouting fire NOC norms.
The action by teams from the estate department comes following Ahmedabad municipal commissioner M Thennarasan’s order to act against units and factories operating without building use (BU) permission.
Besides the preschools, three tuition classes and 50 industrial units were also sealed. according to the Common General Development Control Regulations (CGDCR) 2017 regulations, separate plans must be approved, and BU permission obtained for constructions like schools or hospitals. However, many preschools operate from residential buildings such as bungalows or tenements without fire NOC and BU permissions.
Among the preschools sealed in Chandkheda are Kalorex Preschool, Tree House, Little Millennium, Euro Kids, Leaf International Preschool, Joy Jumper, Ahmedabad Juniors, H-3, Rangoli, Dream House, Mahatma Valley and Auspicious preschools.
Three preschools in Motera, including Bliss Kids and Second Home, were also sealed. Three tuition classes in Bopal — Genius Group Tuition, Applied Classes and Shivam Classes — were also sealed.
