In its first, the celebration of International Day of yoga was held on the India-Pakistan international border at Zero Point, Nada Bet in Banaskantha. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary attended the event today.
June 21 is celebrated worldwide as International Yoga Day. This year, the theme was ‘Yoga for Self & Society,’ and various places in the state also celebrated Yoga Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the event live from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.
On this occasion, CM Patel sent his best wishes to the people of the state, urging everyone to adopt yoga in their daily lives. He highlighted that over 51 yoga studios have been established in the state for promoting yoga.
The CM further emphasised that yoga has become widely accepted during the COVID-19 pandemic as a means to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Speaker Chaudhary thanked Gujarat Yoga Board and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for organising the event at the border area.
Chairperson of the State Yoga Board Sheeshpal Rajput welcomed all participants to the celebration of International Yoga Day, where various asanas and pranayama demonstrations were conducted according to international yoga protocols.
He further expressed that if yoga is adopted in daily life, it provides motivational energy to become a yogi, healthy, supportive, and useful in society.
