The Gujarat Board schools are scheduled to reopen on June 13 for the new academic session. However, with the ongoing hot and humid weather conditions across the state, the environment remains uncomfortable for students. Isolated showers have been observed, but the weather has not significantly improved. Additionally, schools are currently undergoing inspections for fire safety and essential certifications.
In light of these circumstances, the State Shala Sanchalak Mandal has advised the education department to postpone the reopening by a week. It has proposed extending the summer vacation until June 20 for students from kindergarten to class 5, and until June 17 for students from classes 6 to 12.
