Among the various security measures, the city police will also use helium balloons equipped with cameras for surveillance during the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra. These balloons will be specially brought from Kashmir for the event.
Crime Branch JCP Sharad Singhal announced that the police have begun preparing for the yatra’s security. The crime branch team has already conducted a foot march along the route, while local police have organized a bike rally and rehearsals.
The helium surveillance balloons will be positioned at a height of 300 meters and can monitor an area of about 5 kilometers. They are equipped with high-resolution day-night cameras connected to the control room, allowing police personnel to monitor activities remotely.
The balloons are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad in the next few days, and police officials have already identified installation spots. Officials confirmed that the balloons will be installed as soon as they arrive in the city.
