JEE Advanced results: Four from Rajkot, two from Ahmedabad in top 100

Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and engineering aspirants got the results of the JEE Advanced exam on June 9. Among the top 100 ranks in the country, 8 students are from Gujarat.

Dwija Patel, a student of SN Kansagra School in Rajkot, has secured the 7th rank and has made it to the top 10 in the country. Two students from Ahmedabad have also secured ranks within the top 100 in the country.

Ahmedabad JEE toppers
Mrigank Goel from Ahmedabad has secured 69th rank and became the city topper. Ahmedabad’s Fenil Patel has secured 88th rank in the country with a 302 score. While Ahmedabad’s Aishwarya Verma has secured All India Rank (AIR) 472nd but sixth rank in the country in the category.

Rajkot shines

While Dwija from Rajkot secured the 7th rank with a score of 332 out of 360, Akshar Zala of the city stood at 38th rank with a 317 score, Avadh Hindocha got 49th rank with a 312 score and Harshal Kanani got 81st rank with 304 score.

Along with the increase in the number of students appearing for the JEE Advanced exam from Gujarat this year, the number of students qualifying has also increased.

It has been estimated that there are more than 40 students from Gujarat and more than 20 students from Ahmedabad in the top 1,000 ranks of the country this year.

There are 23 IITs in the country, with more than 17,000 seats. Admission to these institutes is through the JEE Advanced exam, which was conducted by IIT Madras this year. Over 2.5 lakh students qualified for JEE Mains, out of which more than 1.9 lakh registered for the JEE Advanced exam. More than 11,000 students from Gujarat registered for the exam this year.

After the result of the advanced exam, a common centralised admission process Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) will now be conducted for the IITs based on the JEE Advanced result and for the various NITs based on the JEE Main exam. The online registration counselling process will start now followed by 5-6 online admission rounds.
