Among the 26 elected Members of Parliament (MPs) from Gujarat, 23 are crorepatis (millionaires) according to the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) report published on June 6.
The assets of BJP’s winning candidate Mansukh Vasava from Bharuch have seen the highest increase of 273% in his assets.
His assets were worth ₹68.35 lakhs in 2019 and have now increased to ₹2.54 crores in 2024. In five years, his assets have increased by ₹1.86 crores.
Vasava declared his sources of income as salary from Lok Sabha, and interest from bank, among others.
Poonam Maadam was second in terms of the increase in the assets with a 246% spike, as her assets have increased by ₹104 crores from 2019 to 2024. In 2019, her assets were ₹43.73 crores, and now they stand at ₹147.70 crores.
Decrease in CR Patil’s assets
Candidates whose assets have increased by more than 100%, included Rajesh Chudasama from Junagadh, Vinod Chavda from Kutch, Mitesh Patel from Anand, Amit Shah from Gandhinagar, Devusinh Chauhan from Kheda, Jashvantsinh Bhabhor from Dahod, Hasmukh Patel from Ahmedabad East, and Prabhubhai Vasava from Bardoli.
However, BJP’s state president CR Patil’s assets have decreased by 11% from 2019 to 2024. In 2019, his assets were ₹44.60 crores, which decreased to ₹39.49 crores in 2024. A decrease of ₹5.11 crores has been noted in his assets.

Out of 26 winning candidates in Gujarat, criminal cases are registered against eight of them.
MPs who are charged with criminal cases include Amit Shah, Rajesh Chudasama, Geni Thakor, Parshottam Rupala, and Jashu Rathva.
