The exit polls showed the saffron wave across Gujarat, as BJP looks all set to clean sweep in Gujarat.
According to CNX, TV9 and ETG estimates in Gujarat, BJP can get all 26 seats. This time the Lok Sabha elections are likely to be one-sided, despite Rupala controversy in Gujarat.
BJP captured all these seats in Gujarat in 2014 and 2019. This time, the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat under the I.N.D.I.A alliance contested on two seats namely Bharuch and Bhavnagar, while Congress candidates contested the remaining 24 seats.
Meanwhile, the form of Congress candidate for Surat Lok Sabha seat was cancelled. After that, other candidates besides BJP also withdrew the forms. BJP’s Mukesh Dalal was declared the unopposed winner. Thus, one seat has come to BJP’s account even before the polls. After that, on May 7, voting was held on the remaining 25 seats.
