An IndiGo flight carrying 172 individuals from Chennai to Mumbai made an emergency landing on June 1 in Mumbai under “full emergency” circumstances following a bomb threat, as per the source.
According to a source, the flight landed at around 8:45 a.m., and passengers got off using a step ladder.
This is the second incident, Just last week, another IndiGo flight faced a similar situation. On May 28, there was a reported bomb threat on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi.
“full emergency” was declared for IndiGo flight 6E5314, flying from Chennai to Mumbai on Saturday. This was prompted after the pilot informed Mumbai Air Traffic Control (ATC) about a potential bomb threat to the aircraft”, the source said.
IndiGo confirmed the reported bomb threat to its Chennai-Mumbai flight. In a statement, they mentioned that upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol, and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines. All passengers have safely disembarked the aircraft, which is currently undergoing inspection.
“After completing all security checks, the aircraft will be returned to the terminal area,” it further stated.
