In response to the tragic hoarding collapse in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar, which resulted in nine fatalities and 70 injuries, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has mandated that all hoarding owners submit structural stability certificates.
This directive applies to 2,135 hoardings—250 managed by the AMC and 1,885 on private properties. Despite the urgency, only 28% of private hoarding owners and 35% of AMC-managed hoarding owners have complied.
