Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has declared Orange Alert and Yellow Alert through the next week in the city. According to a Heat Action Plan bulletin of AMC released today, the city will be under Orange Alert on 19, 20 and 23 May. The city will be under Yellow alert for heat during 21-22 May.
Maximum temperature during Yellow alert can be as high as 43 degree, while during Orange alert it can go up to 44 degree. Minimum temperature shall be 29 and 30 degree respectively.
AMC bulletin further informed that total 4131 heat related cases were registered by 108 emergency service during 1-17 May. AMC hospitals witnessed 216 such cases in same period. AMC has also released number of measures to be taken by citizens during the heat alert period.
