A Speeding car driver rammed his car into four vehicles near Shyamal Crossroads.
Agitated commuters chased the car and stopped him at Prahladnagar Crossroads, pulling him out of the car. By the time the cops arrived at the scene, the driver had already received a severe beating. N Division traffic police have registered an offense against the car driver and have sent him for medical examination as he seemed to be drunk.
Ankur Shavaliya is a resident of Rajkot and runs a private business. He had come to Ahmedabad to visit his relatives. On Monday morning, they bought a new compact SUV, and then on Monday evening, both Shavaliya and his relative went out for a drive.
According to police sources, near Limadiya Hanuman Chowk, Shavaliya, who was driving the car, rammed his vehicle at full speed into another car driven by a person named Ankur. The impact was so hard that the airbag of Ankur’s car inflated. Luckily, no one was hurt.
Other commuters and locals gathered near the spot and stopped Shavaliya from driving the car, then called the police. However, Shavaliya sped away towards Prahladnagar. On the way, he rammed into three other vehicles but had to stop at Prahladnagar Crossroads because of a red signal at that time. According to eyewitnesses, others who had gathered at the spot were so agitated that they even vandalized the car before the cops arrived.
