In a two-day operation on Apr 26-27, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) jointly uncovered three clandestine factories involved in the production of MDMA in Gujarat and Rajasthan. During the interrogation of the accused, the NCB found out that two of the accused, Manoharlal and Kuldeep Singh, were planning to establish more factories in these two states.
Not only that, the two were planning to offer a 20% partnership to whoever offered the site to manufacture, and promised to set up logistics for raw materials and machinery required.
According to sources, NCB also got hold of some documents regarding the operations.
With the volume of money in question, the NCB will also involve the Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case.
The joint raid on Apr 26-27 led to the uncovering of two factories in Rajasthan and one near Gandhinagar, leading to the arrest of 12 people and detaining one.
Drugs valued at ₹230 cr were confiscated during the operation.
The authorities confiscated approximately 25 kg of MDMA, along with a substantial amount of raw materials used for manufacturing the drug.
