Three Indian women died in a road accident in Greenville in South Carolina, US. The women from Anand district of Gujarat died as their car veered off the road and hit a bridge.
The deceased have been identified as Rekhaben Patel, Sangitaben Patel and Manishaben Patel.
According to reports, the SUV veered off all lanes ascended an embankment and soared at least 20 feet into the air before crashing into a tree on the opposite side of the bridge. The car was overspeeding, Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis told a news channel. He also said that no other car was involved in the accident.
The ill-fated car was stuck on a tree and shattered into pieces, which speeks of the speed with which it was being driven.
The sole survivor was in hospital and is critical. Family members of the victims in South Carolina were informed about the accident.
