Ahmedabad city has reported 35 Cholera cases in the first three-and-half months of 2024, which is equal to the total annual cases reported in 2022. The year 2023 saw 95 Cholera cases in the entire year.
Of the 35 reported cases, 13 cases were reported in the first 20 days of April-2024, primarily reported from the wards of Amraiwadi, Vatva, Danilimda, Maninagar, Vastral, Ramol-Hathijan, Gomtipur, Nikol and Indrapuri. In other waterborne diseases, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) reported 231 cases of Typhoid, 115 of Jaundice and 1,045 cases of diarrhoea and vomiting.
The AMC reported 20 cases of Malaria (p.vivax), 2 cases of Malaria (p.falciparum), 26 cases of Dengue and 1 case of Chikungunya in the first 20 days of April With regards to Seasonal Flu, the AMC reported 41 cases in January, which rose to 107 cases in February, reaching its peak at 232 cases in March and reporting 108 cases in the 20 days of April-2024.
