The Garden Department of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation has initiated beautification work in over 200 gardens throughout the city. As part of this endeavor, water bodies have been constructed in seven major gardens spanning across seven zones. Aquatic plants such as lotus and water lily have been carefully planted in these water bodies to enhance their aesthetic appeal.
Furthermore, fish have been introduced into the small pond at Vaswani Garden in Naroda. Stones previously used in bonsai shows held earlier this year are being repurposed for the construction of these water bodies. The civic body has similar plans for 44 additional gardens across the city. To prevent water seepage into the ground, a fiber liner has been installed at the bottom of the water bodies.
The water bodies have been constructed in the following gardens:
– Central Zone: Jashumtiben Barot Garden – East Zone: Matrubhoomi Society Garden – West Zone: Bakul Tripathi Garden – North Zone: Sadhu Vaswani Garden – South Zone: Upendra Trivedi Garden – North West Zone: Garden near I.C.B. Flora Garden – South West Zone: Garden near Anandaniketan School
