Unseasonal rains are likely in Gujarat along with cloudy weather, predicted the Meteorological Department today. Parts of north, central, and south Gujarat are likely to experience rain on Apr 10 and 11, the department forecast noted.
Parts of Dahod, Chhotaudepur, and Narmada districts will experience rain on Apr 10, whereas rain is predicted in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, and Chhotaudepur on Apr 11.
Crops including mango, wheat, and cumin are feared to be damaged due to these unseasonal rains.
On the other hand, before that, from Apr 8, the state will experience scorching heat for three days where the temperatures are likely to rise by 3-4°C. This will mean that the 40°C mark will cross for Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Surendranagar. Moreover, Kutch, Saurashtra, and north Gujarat will also register a rise in temperature by 2-3°C.
Notably, on Apr 4, temperatures of 35.7°C in Ahmedabad, 32.7°C in Disa, 36°C in Gandhinagar, 36.7°C in Vallabh Vidyanagar, 36.8°C in Vadodara, 36.7°C in Surat, 36.2°C in Valsad, 33.2°C in Bhuj, 31.2°C in Nalia, 31.3°C in Kandla Port, 38.2°C in Amreli, 36.6°C in Bhavnagar, 29.8°C in Dwarka were recorded. Okha recorded 31.2°C, Porbandar 33°C, Rajkot 38.6°C, Veraval 31.4°C, Surendranagar 38.3°C, Mahuva 38.4°C, and Keshod stood at 36.5°C.
