Newly appointed Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya is the talk of the town. After Rohit Sharma was replaced as the captain of the team, fans were enraged and started to troll Pandya. MI played the first game at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, where Pandya was subjected to heavy scrutiny from the fans at his former home ground.
So far, Mumbai have lost both of their games. The following four games will be played at MI’s home ground- Wankhede Stadium. Aware of the current wrath of fans, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has taken formative measures to prevent trolling, MCA has bolstered security and will closely monitor the crowd during the match. Anyone caught harassing or trolling Pandya will be detained and potentially ejected from the stadium. Still, police have the considerable challenge of containing Pandya’s critics among the spectators before Mumbai’s first home game against Rajasthan Royals.
MCA has taken these measures after MI’s consecutive defeats under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy. The security will stop and detain anyone who passes comments or starts chanting against Hardik Pandya.
The MI skipper has not registered a win in IPL 2024. Many pundits have questioned the captaincy of Pandya after the loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad as SRH batters smashed 277 runs, which is now the highest total in the history of IPL.
