In view of Lok Sabha elections, the Income Tax (I-T) department on Tuesday started a control room at the Income Tax Bhawan in Ahmedabad to provide information or receive complaints about activities regarding black money, hawala money and cash bullion.
In a statement, the government said, “Necessary arrangements have been ensured by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer as per the directives of the Election Commission of India to conduct the elections in a free and fair atmosphere without any form of intimidation or intimidation.”
As a part of this, the I-T department started a control room at Room 141 at the Income Tax Bhawan to provide any information or complaint regarding the movement of black money, hawala money and cash bullion during the elections, it added.
A toll free number (1800-599-99999) and landline numbers (079-29911052/3/4/5) were also announced along with WhatsApp number (8160745408). Further, complaints can be mailed to cleangujaratelecon@incometax.gov.in.
