In a bid to bolster cleanliness initiatives and ensure efficient waste management, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) gears up to greenlight contracts worth Rs 3,380 crore over a decade for door-to-door waste collection services.
This strategic move aligns with AMC’s long-term vision outlined in the 2014-15 Road Map for Zero Waste Ahmedabad. Notably, the city aims to reduce waste generation from 600g to 450g per capita. Contractual obligations mandate 100% waste segregation, accompanied by penalty clauses for non-compliance that will ensure effective waste disposal.
