The body of a woman doctor was found on a bench at the Ahmedabad Crime Branch on Wednesday. Police suspect the doctor died by suicide after they found syringes near the body.
The deceased doctor has been identified as Vaishali Joshi, who was a PG resident and was working at a private hospital in Ahmedabad.
Further, a 15-page note was also found in the bag of the doctor where she wrote that she would end her life as she was “frustrated” with a police inspector of the Crime Branch named VK Khachar.
Investigating officer ACP Hirendra Chaudhary said that the doctor was in a relationship with the inspector who works in the Economic Offences Prevention Wing for the past four to five years. There was a rift in their relationship over the past few months and the doctor was depressed, said Chaudhary.
Vaishali Joshi’s body was found on a bench outside the EOW office at the Crime Branch office.
The Gaikwad Haveli Police have registered a case of accidental death in connection with the doctor’s death and sent her body for an autopsy.
