Despite housing a few of the premier management and architecture institutes in the state, Gujarat does not have a single government college for the MBA (Master of Business Administration) programme or the BArch (Bachelor of Architecture) course.
Moreover, there is no government-run PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) course in technical education throughout the state.
The government is also reportedly indifferent and reluctant to take steps in this direction.
For MBA programmes, there are currently 9 grant-run and 106 private colleges affiliated with universities in Gujarat.
In architecture, a grant-run course is available at the Maharaja Sayajirao (MS) University of Vadodara and Patan’s government university. Other than that, there are 16 to 18 private colleges for the degree. However, there is no government college for architecture.
Additionally, there are no government colleges in Gujarat for pharmacy courses such as PharmD.
Various technical courses could be opted for after Class 12 science, including degree engineering, pharmacy, architecture, hotel management, designing and planning, and diploma engineering (after 10th).
ME (Master of Engineering), MPharm (Master of Pharmacy), MBA, MCA (Master of Computer Applications), MPlan (Master of Planning), and MArch are offered in PG (postgraduate) courses as well.
Currently, there are government colleges in Gujarat for technical courses including degree-diploma engineering, pharmacy, and MCA.
The two government colleges for MCA in the state include Ahmedabad’s KK Shastri and LD Engineering.
