Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the newly constructed Paldi Jalaram Mandir railway underpass today.
Now open for traffic, this Rs. 83 crore underbridge has been built by Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The underpass connects Paldi Char Rasta to Gujarat College—Law Garden. The underbridge has the Botad-Ahmedabad railway line and the Metro rail line passing above it, with the Paldi Metro rail station located adjacent to the underpass.
Originally intended to replace a level crossing, the underpass includes entry and exit points for the Paldi Metro stations. With an expenditure of Rs. 83 crores, the underpass design integrates the entrance and exit of the Paldi Metro station, spanning 450 metres with two traffic lanes in each direction. Its opening will alleviate traffic congestion and enhance the overall Metro commute experience.
To address soil stability and prevent waterlogging, the construction employed unique techniques, including micro-tunnelling and soil nailing.
