In a shocking update emerging from the two-year-long Russia-Ukraine war, a youth from Gujarat’s Surat is reportedly found to have lost his life in the war-torn country.
23-year-old Hemil Mangukiya had gone to Russia for employment.
12 such youngsters seeking jobs as security helpers, including Mangukiya, were reportedly flown to Russia through an agent.
Many Indians have migrated to Russia to work under this profile but were reportedly forced to fight the country’s war against Ukraine.
Most of these workers were from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Ministry of external affairs reacted to this, “The Indian Embassy is in constant contact with the Russian authorities for the early release of the citizens stranded in Russia. Some Indian nationals have signed contracts to work as ‘helpers’ in the Russian army.”
