Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked two police men in Ahmedabad in bribe case for demanding and taking bribe. One is held, while the other is on run.
The accused police men are police constable Rajubhai Bhopabhai and Assistant Sub Inspector Akbarshah Fakirshah Diwan, both working in surveillance squad of Rakhial police station.
some persons were facing case of gambling. Accused police men demanded bribe of Rs. 10 lakh for not harassing them, make a case bailable and manage their release on bail. After bargaining, the final bribe sum was fixed at Rs. 1.35 lakh. Accordingly the accused police men released those persons on bail. Bail was granted from the police station level itself.
The persons then contacted ACB as they were not willing to pay bribe, following which a trap was arranged and accused police man Akbarshah Fakirshah Diwan was held taking bribe, while accused Rajubhai Bhopabhai escaped from the spot.
