Around 45 individuals, including the bride and groom, were rushed to Nadiad Civil Hospital due to food poisoning following the wedding dinner in the Nikol area of Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, five more individuals from the bride’s side were taken to LG Hospital in Maninagar, Ahmedabad.
The wedding procession (Jan) of Himanshu Bhavsar from Rajpipla came to the Nikol area of Ahmedabad, with the wedding taking place at Vishala Landmark. Late at night, following the Vidai ceremony, around 40 to 45 people began experiencing vomiting and diarrhoea near Nadiad. They were admitted to a Nadiad civil hospital for immediate treatment.
The wedding procession travelled from Rajpipla to Nikol in a luxury bus and five four-wheelers. The meal at the wedding included soup as a starter, followed by salad, carrot halwa, daal fry-jeera rice, roti, paneer, and another vegetable and buttermilk. The welcome drink, which was a pineapple milkshake, is suspected to be the cause of the food poisoning.
Shivam Goswami, currently under treatment, described the sudden onset of diarrhoea and vomiting after the meal at the wedding in Nikol. They were admitted to the hospital due to deteriorating conditions, arriving at 1 o’clock.
From the bride’s side, three women and two men were admitted to LG Hospital in Maninagar for treatment. LG Hospital Superintendent Dr. Leena Dabhi mentioned that five food poisoning patients were admitted late at night, and currently, the condition of all these patients is stable.
Vinubhai, a passenger on the bus, reported that individuals experienced diarrhoea and vomiting while returning from Ahmedabad after the marriage and were transported to Nadiad Civil Hospital through three ambulances. The conditions of all patients are currently stable.
