The redevelopment of the heritage walk route, Rath Yatra route, areas from Vasant Chowk to Lal Darwaza and the Jagannath Temple premises, is set to begin soon. The heritage walk route will be modeled after the roads connecting Agra’s Taj Mahal or Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, with a total project cost of Rs. 52.64 crore.
The Rath Yatra route redevelopment is scheduled for completion in 11 months, while street development in Vasant Chowk, Tilak Bagh, and Lal Darwaza is expected to be completed in 18 months. The city’s heritage zonal plan will also include the redevelopment of Khanpur Darwaza and Shahpur Fort wall.
