Airport police detained an air passenger traveling from Ahmedabad to Delhi after he made a false claim about carrying a bomb during security checks at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in the city.
The incident occurred today when Shazeb Irfan Ahmed, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was asked about the contents of a thermocol box he was carrying with him. In anger, Irfan replied that the box contained a bomb. Even though the box only had food items, the detained individual’s threat prompted the Bomb Squad of CISF to carry out a thorough investigation.
Later, Irfan was handed over to the Airport Police who are carrying out the legal process after his primary interrogation. The police are also checking his mobile phone and contacts to ascertain if there is any threat.
