In a significant move towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM) in Ahmedabad and the NABARD assisted SDAU Rural Business Incubation Centre (SDAU RBIC) in North Gujarat have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement, signed on the 7th of December 2023 in Gujarat, outlines the collaborative efforts between the two institutions to strengthen the ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly among students.
IITRAM, an autonomous university established by the Government of Gujarat, is joining forces with NABARD assisted SDAU RBIC, a center registered under section 8 of the company act, focusing on the incubation of start-ups in the rural and agribusiness sector.
NABARD assisted SDAU RBIC, a joint initiative of the National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University (SDAU), aims to provide crucial support to start-ups and enterprises operating in rural and agricultural domains. Nestled in the verdant campus of SDAU, the center stands as a pioneering effort in Gujarat.
The NABARD-assisted SDAU RBIC has outlined its objectives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in rural areas by creating job opportunities and prosperity. Additionally, it aims to commercialize agricultural technologies, strengthen producer organizations, and serve as a knowledge hub for rural entrepreneurship. The collaboration with IITRAM involves NABARD-assisted SDAU RBIC supporting IITRAM in achieving the goals of the Student Start-up Innovation Policy, conducting workshops for students, identifying potential start-up ideas, providing incubation support to the selected start-ups, and assisting for seed funding to the startups. In turn, IITRAM will assist in organizing sensitization workshops for students on start-ups/entrepreneurship and support the identification of potential start-up ideas for incubation at NABARD assisted SDAU RBIC.
