For admission to the Degree Engineering/Pharmacy courses after completing the Diploma in Engineering/Pharmacy, a provision was made for the allotment of admissions based on merit through the Diploma to Degree Common Entrance Test (DDCET) in the Second Year (Third Semester) of Degree Engineering/Pharmacy courses, as per the resolution dated 23.08.2023. According to this resolution, candidates qualified for admission in the academic year 2024-25 will be allotted admission based on the DDCET merit.
Later, Gujarat Technological University and the Admission Committee received various representations from students regarding the syllabus of the Chemistry subject in this course after the announcement of the exam syllabus for the DDCET exam by Gujarat Technological University. Based on these presentations, a Board of Studies (BOS) meeting and a DDCET meeting were organized at Gujarat Technological University.
A decision was taken in the interest of the students. In the 100-mark syllabus published by the admission committee, 50 marks were allocated for Chemistry. Considering the university as well as the students’ representation, 20 marks of Chemistry (10th standard course) syllabus have been included in the interest of the students. Additionally, 20 marks for Basic Engineering and 60 marks for Physics have been retained.
