Beware of fake messages about VIP entry to Ram Mandir: Ahmedabad Police

With the much-anticipated consecration ceremony of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir on January 22nd, fraudsters are trying to take advantage of devotees by luring them with fake messages promising VIP entry into the Ram Mandir.

Business News

The city police took to social media platform and posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp forward stating, ‘Congratulations… You are lucky; you have received a VIP entry to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.’

Scam gangs have become active, spreading such false messages and sending links to people. The cybercrime gang has been messaging people on WhatsApp and through text messages for the past 3-4 days. As numerous individuals have received such messages, the police have appealed that if any application or link comes with such messages, do not open them.

In addition to these messages, these criminals also send applications and links in which they extort money by acquiring details under the pretext of registering to attend the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony.

Complaints related to these activities have been received by Cyber Crime, Crime Branch, CID Crime, and local police officials. The police are urging the public to report any such message immediately by calling the State Cyber Crime Helpline number – 1930. Furthermore, the police have disseminated this message on social media. Police officers and employees have also kept this message as their WhatsApp status.
