Amid the Uttarayan festival Over 458 treatment centres, 738 veterinaries and 8,060 volunteers, in collaboration with the forest and animal husbandry department, will operate in Gujarat in view of the safety of birds. the state government has organised the “Karuna Abhiyan” programme, which aims to save birds. The initiative, will starts from January 10 and will continue till January 20.
In Ahmedabad, there are 20 treatment centres with 216 veterinaries and 2,800 volunteers. The Karuna Abhiyan program was started in 2017. In the last seven years, around 80,000-85,000 birds are said to have been treated. The program registered a 91 per cent survival rate.
