Around 150 youths from Kashmir visited the Diamond City Surat during December 14 to 19 as part of a youth exchange program. This program was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra-Surat, operating under the Ministry of Sports with the support of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
As part of this initiative, 150 youths from Kashmir who came to Surat were taken to visit historical and industrial sites. These Kashmiri youths visited Adani Port-Hajira, Euro Wafers, and Harekrishna Diamond.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., an Indian multinational port operator and logistics company, provided the Kashmiri youth with comprehensive knowledge about the import and export of various chemicals like oil, gas, and coal. They also learned about the manufacturing and packaging of various types of food products at Euro Wafers.
The youth gained insights into diamond manufacturing, trade, import, export, and the processes involved in rough and polished diamonds. Harekrishna Export Chairman and Padma Shri Savjibhai Dholakia interacted with the Kashmiri youth, encouraging them by explaining the importance of four main aspects of life: health, family, nation, and nature.
During the closing ceremony of the youth exchange program, the 150 youths from Kashmir shared their experiences and views from the six-day tour.
The function covered aspects such as garba, local dances, yoga, pranayama, campfire, sports, and entertainment. Additionally, 150 youths learned Garba steps.
During the visit to Surat, the youth got a glimpse of the intimate culture of Gujarat and were exposed to new opportunities for business and employment by visiting industrial and historical sites. The youths also visited Dandi monument in South Gujarat.
