The responsibility of organizing the heritage walk was entrusted to Akshar Travels, a private agency, by the World Heritage City Trust. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the agency was authorized to charge 200 from an Indian citizen and 300 from a foreign national for participating in heritage walks.
However, concerns arose during the Standing Committee meeting, when the agency began charging 400 from an Indian citizen and 500 from a foreign national. Swift action was taken, and the fee hike was promptly reversed, acknowledging that more money was collected through this adjustment.
