The parents of the students at Mount Carmel School in the Navrangpura area are angered after the school’s decision to relocate the campus to Khanpur and Mirzapur. The parents complain that the school is not providing a timeline for when the school will be shifted back to its original campus.
This uproar began after a meeting was called this morning to determine the future of the Mount Carmel school building located in Navrangpura. The school, erected in 1923, has been declared unsuitable for use by a structural engineer, who, according to school authorities, has cautioned that the concrete structure and its classrooms cannot withstand any stress.
Sister Renuka, the Director of Mount Carmel Navrangpura school, emphasized the school’s commitment to the safety of its students and staff. Starting from the upcoming academic session, Classes 5 to 8 will be relocated to Mount Carmel School, Carmel Cote, Khanpur, and Classes 9 to 12 to St Xavier’s School, Mirzapur.
