After lying dormant for two decades, a proposal for the redevelopment of Vastrapur Lake has finally been presented to the Water Supply and Sewerage Committee. The ambitious project, estimated at a cost of 5.15 crores, aims to transform the Vastrapur Lake premises into a year-round water-filled haven. The redevelopment plan includes the construction of walkways and other amenities for public use.
In a meeting, the Water Supply and Sewerage Committee will review and discuss the proposal for the project. Originally developed by Auda in 2003, the lake suffered significant damage over the years, with rats causing havoc on walkways and walls. To prevent a recurrence of this issue, the municipality plans to employ preventive measures, such as installing glass barriers at lower levels
