Air India, owned by Tata Sons, announced on Tuesday the launch of non-stop services from Mumbai to Melbourne, Australia. Starting December 15, 2023, the airline will oper ate three times a week, becoming the only non-stop operator between Mumbai and Australia. Flights are on sale on Air India’s website and mobile app with promotional all-inclusive round-trip fares starting from ₹48,999 in Economy.
The airline, in a company statement, said, the new service is expected to add nearly 40,000 seats per year in Victoria, Australia, home to over 200,000 Indians. The move aims to cater to the growing demand for visiting friends and relatives and capture business and leisure travel demand.
