Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur posted an adorable photograph of a young cricket enthusiast he met during the India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 match he attended in Dharamsala on October 22.
The minister took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the boy named Iryaksh Aggarwal and his determination to play cricket for India in the future. The photograph he shared featured an enthusiastic Iryaksh showing the minister a placard. “One day I will play for India. Remember me,” it read.
The minister posted a picture of the moment with a rather special note.
“Absolutely heartwarming to see young Iryaksh Aggarwal’s determination and dreams. Awaiting your journey eagerly from placard to the pitch! Nurture your dreams, and together, we’ll watch them grow into reality,” wrote Anurag Thakur.
The internet, meanwhile, was moved by the little boy’s confidence. Several others wished him good luck on his journey as well.
“The confidence. Those who are crazy enough to dream that they can change the world are the ones who end up doing it – Steve Jobs,” a comment on the post reads.
Union sports minister Anurag Thakur, who attended the World Cup 2023 match on Sunday, also shared a hug with the captain of team India, Rohit Sharma, after their win against New Zealand.
