The Pakistan cricket team led by Babar Azam reportedly landed in Ahmedabad on Wednesday evening ahead of their marquee clash against India in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Saturday. Both teams have started their respective campaigns with back-to-back victories and will now be hoping to make it three out of three.
India registered their second win in the World Cup campaign with a dominant show against Afghanistan on Wednesday in Delhi. Rohit Sharma’s men will now face Pakistan on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This would make it the first time since the 2016 T20 World Cup that Pakistan would be playing against India in India. With political tensions between the two nations, security was a primary concern for the Pakistan side and according to a report on Cricbuzz, a Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) member says that the team management was happy with their security arrangements when the team arrived on Wednesday evening.
The Pakistan team will get to practice at the Narendra Modi stadium on Thursday evening while the Indian team are set to arrive in Ahmedabad in the afternoon.
With the highly anticipated match between two rival nations, the Indian side will be hoping for the quick recovery of their star opening batter Shubman Gill.
